Position Summary

The Junior Accountant, Accounts Receivable supports the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks with a primary focus on accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections. Operating in a fast-paced environment, this role is critical to maintaining financial order, operational expediency, and reporting transparency. The ideal candidate possesses a solid foundational knowledge of accounting principles, comfort navigating ERP/CRM platforms, and exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collections & Receivable Management: Draft standard correspondence for past-due accounts, identify delinquent accounts via regular file reviews, and contact clients to secure payments.

  • Recurring Revenue Processing: Handle invoicing and collections specifically for recurring revenue streams, such as art storage accounts.

  • Vendor Payables Support: Create and review approved, scanned vendor bills within NetSuite.

  • Dispute Resolution: Research customer account discrepancies and past-due amounts in collaboration with the operations and finance teams.

  • Audit & Reporting Assistance: Prepare documentation for external audits and organize, file, and retrieve accounts receivable materials.

  • Period-End Support: Assist the Senior Accountant and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Qualifications & Core Skills

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Bookkeeping preferred.

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in corporate finance, business accounting, or bookkeeping.

Software Proficiency:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (highly advanced Excel skills required) or Google Sheets.

  • Demonstrated experience with database entry and web-based ERP/CRM systems.

  • Oracle NetSuite experience is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with AI or machine-learning accounting automation tools is a strong plus.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain the strict confidentiality and discretion required of high-net-worth client accounts.

Quantitative Aptitude: Strong numerical accuracy and fluency in standard business accounting terminology.

Adaptability: Proven capacity to quickly learn proprietary software, protocols, and workflows unique to a niche logistics industry.

Compensation & Benefits

  •  Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  •  Position Type: Full-Time.

  •  Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
