CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
We believe our business thrives not only because of our best-in-class services but also because of our commitment to ethical business practices, caring for our employees, supporting a clean environment, and promoting the visual arts.
OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT
Our clients are best served by employees who feel a sense of loyalty and purpose. Atelier 4 creates that culture by providing our employees with lifelong career paths, competitive, full-time pay, and generous benefits.
ENVIRONMENT
Unchecked greenhouse gas emissions will lead to catastrophic consequences for life on our planet. As fine art shippers, we produce an outsized share of greenhouse gases relative to the broader sector. We take that seriously, and A4 is committed to reducing our carbon footprint. Steps we have already taken:
GOING PAPERLESS - In January of 2025, we moved to electronic Bills of Lading, eliminating the paper copies previously produced for every shipment.
GOING ELECTRIC - We added our first all-electric vehicle to our fleet in 2025.
UPGRADING FOR EFFICIENCY - We continue to upgrade lighting to LED across all four warehouses and are improving insulation at our Long Island City flagship to reduce energy use.
REDUCING WASTE - We are beginning to implement the innovative Crative system, which allows us to build custom crates and travel frames out of reusable modular pieces, thereby reducing the number of bespoke wooden crates we build and providing our clients with a multi-use crating option.
MEASURING OUR IMPACT - 2025 was the first year we formally measured our greenhouse gas emissions using the Gallery Climate Coalition calculator. That report is our baseline for setting specific, measurable reduction targets going forward.
STEWARDSHIP
A4 is committed to the stewardship of our shared cultural legacy and supports non-profit arts programs through charitable contributions. We are particularly interested in supporting and drawing attention to operations-related functions, be it through in-kind donations or event sponsorship.
SOCIAL POLICY
A4 expects our clients to uphold the same ethical business standards we do. The roads we drive on and the education we receive are supported through taxation. This public good is undermined when tax revenue is sheltered or diverted, whether illegally or via a loophole. We’re talking about sales and use tax on purchased artworks. Pay the tax.
Atelier 4 recognizes the dignity afforded to all of its employees equally. We maintain the same attitude and doctrine as well with all whom we interact, whether they be customers, vendors, colleagues or associates. Discrimination, in all of its forms, is not tolerated at A4.
